Burnout made me question everything

Every time I opened my laptop:

—I’d delay the important decisions.

—I’d stare at my to-do list and feel defeated. Constantly.

—I’d compare my progress to others with every step I took.

—I didn’t take breaks & missed out on moments that mattered.

Each day felt like a struggle, with thoughts like:

“Should I cancel that meeting?”

“Do I even DESERVE to feel successful today?”

“Will my team lose faith if I admit I’m overwhelmed?”

This is exactly what one of my clients told me when he first reached out.

He felt exhausted, constantly chasing results, even though he was already doing enough.

Most founders spend too much time running on empty.

—Overworking.

—Skipping rest.

—Cancelling plans because everything feels "too much".

I was there, too, at one point in my life.

But success doesn’t come from overextending yourself.

Here are 5 things I taught him:

And now his words are, “For the first time, I feel in control again.”

1. Celebrate what you’ve achieved today.

↳ Stop focusing on what’s left to do.

↳ Recognize the progress you’ve already made.

2. List 3 things that went well this week.

↳ It builds resilience, even if the wins feel small.

3. Set one small, intentional goal for today.

↳ Take 10 minutes to recharge or step away from work.

↳ Every moment of rest counts.

4. Focus on how you feel, not how much you’ve done.

↳ Notice the clarity and strength after each break.

5. Practice gratitude.

↳ Remind yourself of one thing your leadership has accomplished daily.

You don’t need to:

—Work 24/7 or

—Hit constant milestones to feel successful.

—Your efforts are already moving mountains.

—Every day.

PS: What’s one thing you accomplished today that you can be proud of?

(Keep asking yourself this question every single day.)
